Effective Date: July 10, 2026
Relation Insurance Services ("Relation," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Relation Benefits mobile application (the "App"). We are a company based in the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have.
The App is a brochure-style tool that lets employees of participating employers view their company's benefit plan documents and related links. It has no user accounts, no registration, and no personal login. You access your employer's materials by entering a company access code provided to you by your employer.
We designed the App to collect as little information as possible. The App handles three categories of information:
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, Social Security number, protected health information (PHI), or financial data. The App has no user accounts and does not build a profile of you.
We use the information above only for the following purposes:
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or share it (see Section 5).
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we rely on the following legal bases: our legitimate interests in providing a secure, reliable App and understanding how it is used in an aggregated, anonymous way; and the performance of the arrangement under which your employer makes benefit information available to you through the App. Because the App collects no personal identifiers or account data, the information involved is minimal and, in most cases, not tied to an identifiable individual.
We use a limited set of service providers, who act as our data processors or sub-processors and may only handle information on our behalf:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA). We do not serve advertisements in the App and do not track you across other apps or websites. We disclose information only to the service providers listed in Section 4 so they can perform services for us, or where required by law.
Your company access code remains on your device only, in secure storage, until you clear it or uninstall the App. Usage and diagnostics data is retained only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, and is then deleted or aggregated. Benefit documents are retained for as long as your employer participates in the service.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect information handled by the App. The company access code is stored on your device using platform secure storage. The list of valid company codes is held on our systems so that entries can be validated, protected by the same access controls as the documents themselves. Benefit documents are hosted on encrypted, access-controlled cloud infrastructure behind private networking, and all data transmitted between the App and our backend is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard information consistent with its sensitivity.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the GDPR, including the right to know what information is collected, to access or delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing. Because the App does not create user accounts and does not collect personal identifiers tied to you as an individual, there is little to no personal data associated with you that we could locate, disclose, or delete. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is no opt-out to exercise. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
If you would like to make a request or ask how these rights apply to you, please contact us using the details in Section 12. We may need to take steps to verify a request before responding.
The App is intended for use by employees of participating companies and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us so we can address it.
We are based in the United States, and information handled through the App is processed and stored in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand that any information involved may be processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
